Improving Our Signwork

About Me

Improving Our Signwork

After suffering from quarter after quarter with lagging sales, I realized that I needed to do a better job of improving our customer attraction and retention. I started thinking about how a customer might find our business, and it occurred to me that we needed to go through and improve our sign work. We were able to find a great business in the area that offered a huge number of available signs, and they were really amazing to work with. They recreated all of the signs that we needed for our business, and it was incredible to see just how much more business we were able to enjoy in a short timeframe.

3 Things To Keep In Mind When Making Your Building's Fire Exits

When you are building a commercial building, you need to ensure that you follow all building codes and rules. One such rule is having marked stairwells and exits so that in an emergency, people know how to get out. You need to install emergency markers that will work regardless of the electricity status of your building. These markers are often referred to as luminous egress path markings. You are going to need to install these in your building.

Know What Is Required

Before you start looking at lights and markings to purchase, you need to research what is required. Although it is a general rule in the United States that you need to have marked exit paths in a commercial or public building, the exact nature of the requirements can vary from one state to the next, and even one area of the state to the next. That is why you will want to research what type of exit lights and paths you are required to install the right ones.

Look for Quality Products

Second, you are going to want to look for quality products. When it comes to installing photoluminescent exit signs and putting down egress pathways, you want to ensure that you use products that will provide great illumination and keep everyone safe. You don't want to use products that will wear out and put the safety of your workers and guests at risk.

Use Photoluminescent Exit Signs

When it comes to exit signs, you want signs that will always work. A photoluminescent sign is essentially a glow-in-the-dark sign. That means that they work regardless of if they are connected to a power source or not. So even if the power goes out in your building, it will still function.

The light has a device that absorbs the light from its surroundings. It takes in those wavelengths and stores them. Then, over time, the signs release those wavelengths back into the world, creating what is known as the glow-in-the-dark effect.

With a photoluminescent exit sign, as long as it is exposed to a little environmental light during the day, it will be able to glow at night. So, if the power goes out, the exit sign will glow. Or, if the space is clogged with smoke, it will still produce light. It will work, regardless of the state of your building. That is why a photoluminescent exit sign is often the best fire safety and code compliance option. It always works, and you can always count on it.

When it comes to keeping your building safe and code compliant, you are going to want to install photoluminescent exit signs, and put down egress tape, so that if something were to go wrong in your building, everyone would be able to find the exits and make their way to safety.
