Improving Our Signwork

About Me

Improving Our Signwork

After suffering from quarter after quarter with lagging sales, I realized that I needed to do a better job of improving our customer attraction and retention. I started thinking about how a customer might find our business, and it occurred to me that we needed to go through and improve our sign work. We were able to find a great business in the area that offered a huge number of available signs, and they were really amazing to work with. They recreated all of the signs that we needed for our business, and it was incredible to see just how much more business we were able to enjoy in a short timeframe.

Three Ideas For Bowling Alley Signs

A bowling alley is often a popular spot in any given city, with people of all ages visiting for date nights, parties, and even organized leagues. If you operate a bowling alley and you've decided to invest some money in it for a renovation project, you'll likely have several priorities. One important thing to consider is updating the signs — many of which might be old and lack visual appeal. A custom sign company from your community can discuss your signage needs and produce a new sign to display outside of your bowling alley. Here are some ideas to consider.

Sign Shape

Not all signs need to have a conventional shape. If you're looking to replace the sign that hangs outside of your bowling alley, choosing a shape that is specific to bowling may stand out from other nearby businesses' signs around your location. A logical choice is a sign shaped like a bowling pin, as this shape is easily recognizable and helps people to immediately think about bowling. For something more elaborate, consider a sign that features the shapes of a handful of bowling pins and a bowling ball crashing into them. The right approach to designing this sign can give it a high degree of impact.

Sign Style

A lot of bowling alleys decorate in a retro manner, so you may also wish to talk to your custom sign company about using vintage design elements on your bowling alley's exterior sign. There are different styles that create a vintage look. For example, using specific shades of orange and blue may often conjure up a retro feel. Similarly, some fonts can also help to give the sign a throwback look. Your sign company's graphic artist will be able to show you different color and font combinations to help you decide what will work well.

Sign Contents

The look of your bowling sign will likely be what gets people to focus on it, but you need to make sure that the content of the sign is informative. Prospective visitors want to learn more about your bowling alley simply by looking at the sign, so the contents of the sign need to be right. You'll obviously have your alley's name, your phone number, and your website, but think of other details that are helpful. For example, the number of individual lanes that you have, as well as other amenities — a lounge, a snack bar, a party room, and more — can all be helpful.
