Improving Our Signwork

About Me

Improving Our Signwork

After suffering from quarter after quarter with lagging sales, I realized that I needed to do a better job of improving our customer attraction and retention. I started thinking about how a customer might find our business, and it occurred to me that we needed to go through and improve our sign work. We were able to find a great business in the area that offered a huge number of available signs, and they were really amazing to work with. They recreated all of the signs that we needed for our business, and it was incredible to see just how much more business we were able to enjoy in a short timeframe.

Design And Create A Custom Bronze Plaque To Honor Your Family

Family crests have been in existence since the 11th century A.D. The elements on historical family crests depicted strength and skill in battle. Contemporary family crests can include other symbols and achievements including a geographical location, family occupations, activities, beliefs, and other qualities.

You may be able to find an existing historical family crest and coat of arms by researching your last name in genealogical and recorded archives. If you cannot find one for your last name or the historical image is no longer relevant, you can design your own contemporary family crest and coat of arms to symbolize your current family achievements and values. You can have your contemporary crest and coat of arms memorialized on a custom bronze plaque. Here are some things to consider when you design a contemporary family crest to have included on a custom bronze plaque:

Family Motto - Choose a family motto that is currently meaningful to you and symbolizes your family beliefs or philosophy in a few short words.

Shield Elements - A pictorial shield is the most prominent image of a historical family crest. Design a contemporary shield with symbols that are simple and personally meaningful. This shield can hold one central image or can be divided into two, three, or four parts that each contain a symbol or image. Each part of your pictorial shield can symbolize different family members and their occupations and/or artistic or sports achievements and vocations.

Family Crest - The family crest appears on the top of a historical coat of arms and is usually the head or body of a person or an animal that represents the family. Choose a crest that harmonizes with the symbols on your shield and depicts a personal motto and your family nationality in pictorial form.

Crest Supporters - Choose two animals or people to be depicted on either side of your shield to support and frame your shield and show personal family values. These supporters can be the same animal or person or can be two different images.

Family Symbol - Choose a personal family symbol to be included in the helmet area of your family crest. This contemporary symbol can be stylized and reduced to lines and shapes that indicate the major components and design of a person, animal, or activity. Personalization is the key to designing a meaningful family symbol.

Mantling - The mantling around a family crest is a stylization of leaves and plants. These curving and entwining shapes surround the shield, crest, and supporters and create a background environment for these elements. Choose a depiction of plants and trees that are plentiful on your property or in your geographical location.

Once you have designed a meaningful and symbolic family crest, you can submit it to a custom plaque manufacturer to have it depicted on a plaque of carved and engraved bronze. You can also have your family crest enameled to add color to your custom family plaque. Discuss your ideas and personal symbols with a plaque manufacturer to find the best way to design your contemporary plaque. With proper care and safekeeping, your plaque can memorialize your name and family at this point in history and be handed down to future generations.
